Mrs. Farwell was my teacher in third and fourth grade at Clara Barton School, (named after Clara Barton), which was just down the street from where I lived. She put on the ‘musical extravaganzas’ at Clara Barton. This is one of the ‘big productions’. (I’m fourth from the left.)
My Favorite Sports Moment
The ball goes through Bill Buckner’s legs, Mookie gets to first, and Ray Knight scores from second to win Game 6 of the World Series.
Let’s Go Mets!
We are HUGE Mets’ fans in our house.
My Dad played minor league ball for the Cincinnati Reds, and my grandpop was one of the best pitchers in the N.Y., N.J. area in the 1920’s when semi-pro baseball teams flourished – even playing some of the major league teams. Grandpop was famed for his spitball – it was legal then – and when Babe Ruth visited Perth Amboy, NJ, he borrowed some slippery elm, a tree resin, from Grandpop to chew during the game.
